GI GEORGE'S BASEMENT PLAYGROUND
By: El Paso Trooper and GI George

Stretching along the same wall as George's Ho Chi Minh Trail is George's tribute to the special operations operators from the Army Special Forces and the Navy SEALs. The Army Special Forces occupy the upper shelves through the first four photos while the Navy SEALs occupy the lower shelves. Due to the layout of the basement I had to take two photos of the last section of wall. Sitting on the top shelf of the metal shelving unit that's home to George's Ho Chi Minh trail are 2 more of his special forces, one on a repainted quad-runner and another mounted on a Power Team horse and leading a PT mule.

Crammed into the corner of the room is one heck of a diorama. A downed Soviet/Russian HIND helicopter! Yes that's a near 1/6th model of a HIND. When George first starting working on Ft. Bliss he came across this model, at the time it was complete, which had been used as a training aid. The Army no longer needed it, it was taking up too much space, so George latched onto it. The lucky so-and-so ;-) To make it fit he had to cut off the tail section and that gave him the idea for the diorama. The helicopter was brought down and was secured by US military forces. They captured a couple of insurgents. This is pretty impressive, but wait til you see the warehouse George built!
