Here is a medic and a combat lifesaver working on a soldier with a gunshot wound to the upper leg. The bullet has passed through the soldier's thigh, severing the femoral artery. |
(Note: i accidently skipped a step, as the medic would first clean the wound with water to clear excess blood and get a somewhat clearer view of the wound itself) |
The medic then applies QuikClot to the wound in an attempt to somewhat control the bleeding. (again, not sure exactly where this step falls in as i'm not too familiar with QuikClot) |
The medic then attempts to control the bleeding using direct pressure with a battle dressing |
