THE BADGER
By: C. Martin

And for those unfamiliar with the Badger:
Norbert Sykes was an American GI during the Vietnam war. Captured by the NVA, he was held prisoner for many long months- tortured almost daily by Colonel Trans Ahm. During this time, Sykes was visited by a vision of God- appearing as a large Badger named Mable.

Following the war, Norbert was institutionalized, suffering from multiple personality disorder; the result of his captivity in Vietnam and abuse at the hands of his step-father as a child.

During his committment, Norbert fashioned himself a costume. With the help of another patient, a 5th Century weatehr Wizard named Hammalgystythwickbrngxaxolotl (Ham, for short) Norbert convinced his doctors he was sane and was released. Upon which time embarked on his crime fighting career as The Badger, an animal-talking, kung fu master, stomping out all the grinks, droinks and grongos who double park, play music too loud or just otherwise piss Norbert off.

Badger was the creation of Mike Baron, who later went on to pen The Punisher. Badger has been published by Capitol Comics, First Comics, Darkhorse Comics, and most recently Image Comics. Currently, Badger is between publishers, either once again visiting a nice padded cell, or championing abused animals somehwere in his adopted home of Barneveld, Wisconsin.

Very nice work here C. Martin! It's been a long time since I've read a Badger comic, but from what I remember, you've done some very sharp work on this figure. Definitely a unique and cool project from you for sure. Special thanks for sending it in and sharing it with us. - GL
