More vent hole drilling.

Side view, showing the skirts removed. Every picture I have of a US tank in the Pacific shows them WITHOUT the side skirts.. I suspect the darn things got mucked up with palm fronds, grasses, cocunut trunks, etc. and were more trouble than they were worth. Some tankers added their own wooden skirts later, but the metal ones were almost always removed on M3's, M4's and M5's.

This front view shows the sanding and scuffing being done, as well as shows the fenders and skirts having been removed. It also shows the repair/filler I made to plug the holes where the hedgehog attachment is supposed to go.

This shows the interior spray paint job, just plain white. seemed the most popular color for US tanks in the Pacific, so the insides got a shot of white paint.

Another front view, showing the plates for the attachment holes, removal of side skirts and fenders.

Very cool stuff so far old friend. I definitely can't wait to see this when you're finished. Man opening up those air vent holes was ambitious :) Great work Graeylin. Special thanks for sending this sneak peek in and sharing it with us. - GL
