THE ANTI HEROES
"THE MORPHINIST"

By: Mikey

Michael Stone enlisted in the Army at the age of eighteen. He fought in many battles and won a handful of citations. During the battle of Gettysburg he was hit in the face with shrapnel from Confederate grape shot. The wound rendered his left eye useless and the side of his face horribly scared. The pain of the wound left him with a terrible addiction to Morphine.

Honorably discharged from the Army he returned to his home in New York City, he married and had a daughter. Try as he did, his addiction to Morphine and gambling made him a terrible family man. While playing a hand of poker in one of New York's many slums he decked a young man for insulting his scarred face. Stone did not realize that he had just punched Octavian Hudson, the notorious leader of New York's "Hogmollies," the most deadly of all the gangs in New York's five points area. Hudson vowed to get even, and upon finding out that Stone had a family, he knew how to accomplish his goal. One week later, after returning home from one of his many drug binges, Stone found his wife and daughter had been raped and beaten to death. Stone stormed into a mode of vengeance. A month passed and over half of the "Hogmollies" gang was dead or missing. Hudson left New York for California. He told his fellow gang members that he was going to the west to scout "business" opportunies, but they knew that he was running for his life. Stone, who had gained the nickname "The Morphinist" was hot on Hudson's trail. Stone would not and did not rest until Octavian Hudson was dead.

A very sharp looking figure here for sure Mikey. An interesting bio. here about him as well. A very cool project here all the way around. Special thanks for sending him in and sharing him with us. - GL
