ERIC DRAVEN
THE CROW

By: GreenLeader

Well, ever since I first spotted the 12" McFarlane Movie Maniacs Crow figure, I knew I had to use that headsculpt to make a fully articulated action figure out of him. Since the head was pretty much all I could use from the original figure, I had to go out and find all the rest of the stuff elsewhere.

Here is what I used:
The body is a Art Asylum(?) Bruce Lee figure, even though the Bruce Lee figure wasn't the most articulated I could find, I figured it was only proper to use Bruce Lee for the Brandon Lee figure. Plus, he had a nice thin stature, which is what I was looking for and he had 3 different sets of interchangable handsculpts. The pants came from the Elvis '68 Comeback Special figure, I stripped some buttons off an old 21st German tunic and glued them to the front. The spandex shirt I stole from an old Star Wars Stormtrooper figure. The boots are from the 21st Modern Russian Sniper set.

After I had these pieces, it was pretty easy to put this figure together. The only other stuff I used was cutting thin strips of electrical tape and wrapping them around his arms, hands, and torso, Then I took a little bit of string and colored it so it was more of an old twine look. I coated the string in clear drying glue so it would hold its shape and wrapped it around his chest and leg. Then I cut a few rip-holes in the chest and sleeves of the old Star War's costume. I did a little bit of modifying on the 21st Russian boots. I simply cut the tounge out and split them down about halfway, then heated up the boot and bent back the tops of the boot while it was hot and ran it under cold water to reset the rubber so it would stay flapped open(It took a few times to get it to stay). Of course, giving the impression that Eric had only laced his boots halfway up.

The final pieces used are the guitar and the crow bird. The Crow bird was from the 7" Movie Maniac Crow figure, and the guitar was from the 12" McFarlane Crow figure. That's pretty much it! Of course, I based my figure on the McFarlane Movie Poster figure and he wasn't wearing the long trench coat in that, so I just left it off. I think he turned out fairly good though. Well the figure anyway, my photography needed some work :) What do you think? :) -- GL
