BODY STUDY OF THE NEW
YAMATO 12" ACTION FIGURE
By: GreenLeader

Here's a full shot of the Yamato figure. His articulation is pretty much the old '70s Joe muscle type body I would say. I guess somewhere in between the old '60s Joe and the muscle body.

The neck joint however is more like the modern Action Man/Max Steel type articulation. In other words, the neck is stationary and the head pivots on top of the neck post. The neck joint has a much wider range of movement than the Action Man type neck, allowing this figure to look downward fairly far.

All the other joints are pretty much Hasbo GI Joe style. He even has the elastic running up through the body holding it together.

Did someone say... Clint Eastwood? Yes, a fairly decent resemblance here.

As you can see here, the foot joint is pretty much old standard Hasbro as well. The hands and feet are attached and pull off like those figures as well. Sorry about the mess on the right foot, a little bit of boot powder :)

As you can see here, the two pieces that form the chest area are pinned together in the back.

Overall, a real nice figure here from Yamato. That old school styling mixed with a little bit of the new. The only drawback that I saw is that the neck was a little thin, which made finding a shirt with the neckline tailored small enough to look right on this figure a bit challenging. Other than that though, I loved this new figure. Limited in articulation in certain areas, but nicely made. If you get a chance to pick up one of these Yamato figure, do it!
